We always meet interesting people at food festivals. It's always great talking to customers directly and other stallholders who smile knowingly when you talk about the joy and headaches of running a small business. Last year at St Fagan's Food Festival we met a humble couple who talked about opening a coffee shop and would like to sell our bread. Nothing novel there – we get 3 or 4 enquiries a month from people planning to open a coffee shop who talk a good game. But like all the great doers in life this couple were introverted and modest. A year later The Plug in Dinas Powis, true to their word, is offering Tortoise bread and their toast is "to die for" (Trip Advisor). Our kind of people.
